DSU?s CARTER TO COMPETE IN NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dover, Del. (June 5, 2013) --- Delaware State University's Ryan Carter (sr.; New Castle, Del.) will compete against some of the nation's best sprinters for All-America honors and a national championship  this weekend.

Carter will run in the 200-meter dash competition at the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon. He qualified for the national championships with a 12th place time of 20.83 seconds in the NCAA East Regional Preliminary last month.

The national championship appearance caps off a stellar year for Carter, who captured the Mid-Eastern 200 and 400-meter dash championships this spring.

Carter also qualified for 2013 NCAA Indoor National Championships; and was a member of the Hornets' NCAA Outdoor East Regional qualifying 1600-meter relay team.
