9/15 18th Franklinville Invitational NY

RESULTS POSTED

Emily Giannotti, a Coudersport sophomore, ran 19:04 to take 2nd in the Girls Division II race. Her team took 8th. Orlon Bernard led his Oswayo Valley team to a 4th place finish with his 9th place 17:54.



9/15 2nd Annual Central Bucks Invitational

The host teams took first and second in Saturday's Central Bucks West Invitational. The girls dominated their race grabbing 5 of the first 6 spots. West's Shannon Stirdivant (20:02) won by 7 seconds over teammate Vanessa Camiolo (20:09). West's Ginny Jones placed third with a 20:16. Central Bucks South placed second with 46 points.

On the boys side Central Bucks East cruised to an easy victory over second pace CB West, 23-41. CB East placed five runners in the top ten to secure the win. East's Josh Izewski took home the individual title with a time of 15:27. CB West's Tyler Jones placed second with a 15:34.

Central Cambria's Carly Seymour kicks off her senior campaign with a win at the Altoona Invitational. Seymour ran by herself for most of the race and won by almost two minutes over the field with a time of 17:27.9. CC won the overall title, 30-66 over second place Bishop McCort.

The host team took home the title on the boy's side as Altoona beat out hempfield, 102-124. Bishop McCort's Jim Spisak won the individual race with a 16:13.8.

9/15 Briarwood Invitational

The Strath Haven Girls place second in the Briarwood Inivitational to Tatnall (DE) in the Championshp Race. Haven's Melissa Frick cruised to a 19 second victory with a time of 19:16. In the Girl's Division I race, Hatboro-Horsham beat second-place William Tennent 59-78. Hatboro Horsham's Kaylee Irwin (20:06) beat Prendergast's Erica Matticalo (20:17) for the individual title. In the Girl's Division II race Great Valley beat Pearl River (NY) 57-89. Great Valley's Carolyn Morse won the individual race with a time of 19:45.

In the Boys Championship race Bishop Shanahan's Chris Bodary set a new meet record with a time 15:47 to take the individual title. Zack Hoagland of North Penn finished second with a time of 15:49. North Penn beat out Holy Ghost Prep for the team title. The Championship mark had stood for 11 years and was held by Southmoreland's Chris Dugan at 15:48.5. Dugan was a Foot Locker Finalist that year. In the Boys' Division I race, Hatboro-Horsham edged out Haverford 48-50. Haverford's Matt Keehn took home the individual honors with a 16:22 over teammate Sam Stua (16:28). In the Division II race, Great Valley gets nipped by Highland Regional (NJ), 81-84. Friends'Central's Ivo Milic-Strkais (16:32) edged out teammate Patrick DeSabato (16:32) for the win.

9/15 Bulldog Invitational-Big Spring

The Boiling Springs Girls won Saturday's Bulldog Invitational despite the absence of Kara Millhouse. Millhouse, who won last weekend's Gettysburg Invite, was held out of the race with a minor injury. Boiling Springs placed four runners in the top 15 to help seal the victory. Shippensburg senior, Neely Spence won the individual race with a 19:39.58 finish.

Central Dauphin took home the boys title. They placed four runners in the top ten, including individual winner, Mike Skocik (17:08.91) and runner-up Evan DeArmitt (17:13.54).



9/15 Bulldog Invitational-Northern Lehigh

The Emmaus boys edged out Exeter Township 77-80 to win the Bulldog Invitational at Northern Lehigh High School. Tom Luff was the top finisher for Emmaus placing 5th in the race with a time of 17:16.4. Tamaqua's Alex Zubey crossed the finish line first in a winning time of 16:38.8. The Emmaus Girls "B" team placed 6th. Saucon Valley won the team title with 54 points. Pleasant Valley's Samantha Klingel (20:09) was the top finisher. The Emmaus top six had a planned workout for the day, but would not have been at full strength. Brianna Faust had an appendectomy on Thursday, and is expected to make a rapid recovery and begin training soon. Teammate Lindsey Graybill took a spill during practice, and required several stiches. All but Brianna will race on Sept 22 at the pre-NTN meet in New York. 



9/15 Chestnut Hill Academy Invitational

Wes Shoupe led Phil-Mont Christian to a team title at the Chestnut Hill Acedemy Invitational. Shouple covered the 3 mile course in 16:12 for the victory. Geoff Bendfield of Roman Catholic placed second with a 16:32.

The Perkiomen Valley girls beat out Downingtown East, 54-61 to win the Chris Fretz Invitational. Boyerstown's Elizabeth Simpson (19:22) won by eight seconds over marie Thompson of Downingtown East (19:30)

Mark Dennin paced Boyerstown to victory over host team, Perkiomen Valley. Dennin cruised to the individual crown with a winning time of 15:56. John Lacolla of West Chester East placed second with 16:30.

9/15 Hartford Riverfront Cross- Country Festival

The Germantown Friends Boys hung with the top ranked team in the country this weekend. GFS was edged out by US #1 Danbury, CT, 43-42 at the Hartford Riverfront Cross-Country Festival in Hartford, CT. Max Kaulbach (15:44.5), Isaac Ortiz (15:54.0), and Jake McKenzie (16:02.1) placed 4-6 to give GFS the lead but Danbury placed their next four runners in the top 15 to give them the victory. Danbury's #1 sat out with a mnor injury. But US#11 Glastonbury CT was 3rd in the race.

In Felton, DE, the Garnet Valley Girl's finished 8th in the Lake Forest Invitational. In the Girl's A race, Leah Goeke placed eighth with a time of 20:13.74 to pace Garnet Valley. Padua's Meghan Smith won the individual race with a 19:10.99. Garnet Valley  placed 10th in the A race. In the Boys' B race, Avon Grove took home a third place finish. Ryan Penn placed 20th (18:01.72) for AG. In the Girl's B race,  AG ran to a fourth place finish. Sarah Burke led the charge, placing 8th with a 20:35.00. 



9/15 Lebanon County Meet

The Cedar Crest Boys collected 22 points in their victory at the Lebanon County Meet this weekend. CC placed five runners in the top 6 spots in the race. CC's Matt Heisey took home the individual crown with a time of 17:08.  Palmyra placed second with 63 points. The Cedar Crest girl's were also victorious Saturday. CC scored 18 points in the win. Eastern Lebanon County's Kayleigh Perry won the individual race with a time of 19:46. The Palmyra girls finished second with 49 points.

In the Penn State Behrend Inivitational, Corry edged Fort LeBoeuf in the Boy's race, 59-68. Will Robinault of Youngsville won the inidividual race with a 17:17.05. Steve Gibbens of Seneca High School placed second with a 17:36.20. Corry's Jordan wingar placed third with a 17:41.70.

On the girls' Side, Fort LeBeouf scored 40 points to take the team title. FLB's Brittany Kaltenbugh (20:05.90) and Ciara Shorts (20:13:10) led the way sweeping the top two spots in the race.

9/15 Slippery Rock Invitational

The General McLane Boys cruised to an easy victory at the Slippery Rock Invitational. McLane's Dan Dillon won the individual race in AA with a time of 16:49. Teammate Craig Hutcheson placed second with a 17:10.

On the Girl's side, General McLane finished second to Union City. Neshannock's Kacey Gibson (19:01) took home the individual title beating Harbor Creek's Lauren Zarger by 22 seconds.

In AAA, just 15 points separated three teams as the Mount Lebanon girls edged out Norwin and Fox Chapel. Trinity's Chelsea Sumney won the individual race with a time on 19:02. Hampton's Elaina Balouris placed second with a 19:11.

Seneca Valley beat North Allegheny B 91-123 in the boy's AAA race. Meadville's Andrew Geist (16:18) won by 26 seconds over Kyle Gibson of Canon-McMillan. Seneca's Cam Stauffer finished third with a 16:36.

Mon. Gateway took 13th place in the Boys' Division I race at the Spartman Invitational in Boardman, Ohio. M-Gateway's Daniel Krystek placed 13th overall with a time of 16:29.28.  Hilliard Darby's Joseph Jackson took first with a winning time of 15:57.89. In Division II, Pine-Richland landed a 6th place finish. Senior Ryan McCormick was PR's top finisher, placing 32nd with a time of 17:36.60. Peninsula Woodridge's Brian Himelright won the race with a 16:05.69. In the Girl's Division II race, Pine-Richland took 5th. PR's Rachel Blez placed 9th with a time of 22:16.52. Akron's Colleen Conrad won the race with a time of 20:16.03. 



9/15 The Father Bede Hines XC Invitational

The State College Girls and Boys dominated the Father Bede Hines XC Invitational at St. Francis University. The Lady Little Lions grabbed spots 2-8 in the race. Penn Cambria's Lauren Krug (21:39) edged SC's Rachel Thor (21:39) at the finish line for the overall title.

On the Boys side, State College swept the first seven spots and scored 15 points for the win. Senior Mike Williams (18:26) paced the Little Lions by take the individual title. Teammate Paul Wells placed second with a 18:32.

Weekend Preview: Week 3 of the season sees 2006 Foot Locker Finalist CarlySeymour open her senior campaign at the Altoona Invitational - this year leading the top ranked AA team in the state. The Briarwood Invitational kicks off again at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia. In in the girls' Championship race, it's several top PA teams, including Cardinal O'Hara, North Penn, Upper Dublin, Archbishop Carroll and Strath Haven, taking on NTN Southeast #8 Tatnall, Delaware. PA #1 Emmaus girls put their varsity B team on the course at the Northern Lehigh Bulldog Invitational. The PA #2 guys, Germantown Friends, head to the Hartford XC Festival in Connecticut. PA#1 North Allegheny is putting their Varsity B team to the test at the Slippery Rock Invitational.
