Dover, Del. (May 3, 2013) --- Delaware State University's Janae Wilson finished fifth in the MEAC outdoor women's long jump championship in Greensboro, N.C. today. Wilson had a top leap of 5.66 meters (18-07.00) to earn four team points for the Hornet women.
Also in the women's competition, Delaware State's Ketsia Dornevil had the seventh best preliminary time to qualify for the final in the 800-meter run. Dornevil posted a time of 2:13.79 to advance to Saturday's final race.
In the MEAC Championship men's competition, DSU's Jordan Wilson was eighth in the long jump (6.55m) to earn a point for the Hornets.
Also, Delaware State's Ryan Carter and Stephen Bowe have qualified for the final in the 400-meter dash. Carter had the second best time in the 400 preliminaries (47.46 sec.), while Bowe was eighth (47.94).
Carter had the top preliminary time in the 200 meter dash.
Through two days of competition, Delaware State's women are 10th in the team standings with four points, while DSU is 12thin the men's standings with three points.
