Top Returner Brooke Rauber Of Tully Commits To NC State

It seems like the pipeline between New York and NC State University is growing exponentially, as the Empire State's best make their way South. The most recent pickup for the Wolfpack is Brooke Rauber (Tully), a 4x Class D Cross Country Champion, as well as a 3x Top 10 Finisher at Cross Nationals.

Rauber is committing amongst a season of uncertainty. It is still undecided what local superintendents will due in regards to a Cross Country Season. Many signed a petition last week to not begin sports until 2021, but the sentiment may not be widespread.

Rauber will be joining an already-strong NY contingent. Given the pandemic, NCAA Freshman will most likely maintain their eligibility, meaning Rauber will come in on equal footing with the current Freshman Class. That class includes 3x Cross Nationals Champ Katelyn Tuohy (North Rockland), many time All-American Claire Walters (Fayetteville-Manlius), multiple Cross National Qualifier Jenna Schulz (Liverpool), and Foot Locker Runner-Up Marlee Starliper (Northern, PA). On top of that, they added NY Sprint State Champ Mia D'Ambrosio (Schalmont) to round out their Track Team.  Already at NC State were standouts Kelsey Chmiel (Saratoga) and Cross National Qualifier Julia Zachgo (Shenendehowa). The team looks to have a solid lineup for the next few years, which will also include more talent from in-state and abroad.
