NJRunners at Six Flags Wild Safari Invite

While the sky is a little dark and there is a threat of rain, the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational here at Great Adventure in Jackson is starting in overcast but rain free conditions. The Open race, which just finished up was won bty Tim Mulligan (Pinelands Reg. alum) and the Middle School  Boys are next up. Keep checking back as we will be posting results and doing a few other tings today from the park.

In the first varsity race of the day, the Girls  "A" race, the CR was demolished as Julie Macedo of the Charter School of Wilmington (De) rips 16:53. The former CR of 18:08 was established  by Bernard's Dana Giordano last year. Macedo is the defending large school Delaware XC champ. Dina Iacone  (18:09) is the top Jerser in 3rd.lace. Due an equipment issue, times are being manually input andd will follow later

Lenape takes the team title with 71 points, going 4-6-8-14-39. Natalia Ocasio  (18:50)leads with the 4th place finish

 

Steven Flynn of Edison is the boys Varsity "A" winner with a time 15:49. Tristan Geiger (16:02) of Toms River East follows in second and St. John the Baptist (NY) wins the team title with 71 points. South Brunswick with 118 points is 2nd (1st Jersey Team). Results are a little delayed coming through. We'll get as many "unofficial times as fast we can, as soon as we can.

 

Pascack Valley junior Ben Malone takes the "B" race in about 15:53 ahead of Luke Dermody of Hightstown in approx 15:58.

Riley Leder of host Colts Neck  gets 4th. Indian Hills takes the team title with 73 points over 2nd place Colts Neck (111 pts)

 

In the Girls "B" race, the 1st NJ runners was Arielle Weiner  (19:10)of Colts Neck in 4th place followed by Grace Neilsen (19:13) of Manasquan. Pearl River wina the team title with 37 points. Colts Neck gets 5th as the top Jersey team

 

In the Boys "C" race, Harrison Brakewood of Voorhees picks up his 2nd win of the season in a very very close 15:54. He bests Chris Eltringham of Ramey (15:54) and Erik Buser (15:58) also of Ramsey. In the team race, Somer (NY) coached byTim Fulton of Armory fame takes the win with 77 points over Ramsey with 91

 

Dana Giordano repeats at the Wild safari with a win in the "C" race with a time of 18:10. In the same race, NJ #1Voorhees behind Nisa Cicitta in 2nd (18:18) place romps to the team title with 39 points (1-4-7-10-16) and a 19:17 avg.. 2nd Place in the team race goes to Bernards with 97 points.

 

In the last Girls race of the day, Varsity D, Brianna Feerst of Pt. Pleasant Beach is the first Jerser in 2nd overall  with a time of 18:17  behind Nanuet's (NY)  Megan Young with an 18:16 time. Nanuet (NY) wins the team race with haddonfield on the strength of a  3rd place finish by Shelby cain and a(3-4-21-25-41) team performance gets 2nd with 94 points

On the Boys side the "D" race was a mostly New York affair with Kevin Ratigan of McNair Academic breaking up the party with a 4th place (16:21) finish as the first Jerser. The team title went to The Collegiate School with 55 opoints. McNair got 5th with 152 points..
