An emerging runner with star power, Hays began her season on Dec. 17 at the AT&T Coaches Hall of Fame meet at the Armory in New York. It was there where she raced a US #9 of 5:05.57 in the 1-mile run and added a US #11 in the 1500m in 4:47.17. Two weeks later, Hays added to her collection of national times at the Mariner Corps Holiday Classic in New York with a time of 2:19.18 in the 800m, which was good for US #10.
