Joaquin Martinez De Pinillos

School: Cathedral Catholic (California)

Grade: Senior

Skinny: You could say the debut of DePinillos will be one of the main attractions to watch at Woodbridge. He finished fifth here in the sweepstakes race a year ago in 14:18.60 and he's the top returner back. A year later, he's also nationally ranked on our Flo50 top 25, landing at No. 23.

After finishing third at CIF a year ago in a season PB of 15:07.40 at the 5K, he went on to NXN, where he finished 75th. But over the California cross country season, De Pinillos also recorded another solid 3-mile effort at Mt. SAC, going 14:37.72. Watch out for De Pinillos to challenge for the win here at Woodbridge.

Kevin Ramos

School: Rubidoux (California)

Grade: Junior

Skinny: If there's anyone who should be able to challenge De Pinillos for the win, it will be Ramos.  He opened his season on September 9 at the Laguna Hills Invitational in a U.S. No. 19 time of 14:50.00, which represented a 15-second improvement from his time last year. Ramos is still a little green, but he's a talent ready to bloom. He was 10th at the CIF Division 3 Championships as a sophomore, hitting a solid effort of 15:26.90. He ran a season PB in the 3-mile of 14:39.42, placing second at the CIF Southern Section Finals.
