Connor Nisbet 1st Boys FL Nats Qualifier From The 1st State!

Connor Nisbet of Wilmington Friends qualified Saturday for the Foot Locker Nationals with a stellar third place run in the Northeast Regional in a time of 15:37 at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. Based off our historical data, Nisbet is the first boys qualifier ever from the state of Delaware!

Nisbet had just missed qualifying last year for Foot Locker Nationals when he finished 11th at the Northeast Regional in a time of 16:01. He left no doubt in securing his spot to earn a ticket to San Diego by running up with the leaders and finishing behind only New Jersey Meet of Champions runner-up Jack Stanley and Massachusetts state champion Lucas Aramburu.

Nisbet gained valuable experience earlier in the season when he raced the 4K course at Van Cortlandt Park in the Manhattan Invitational and finished 3rd in the Eastern States Championship race.

He should have a shot at competing for top 15 All-American honors at nationals after a strong cross country season which saw him break 15:10 for 5K in 3 races and winning New Castle County and DIAA State cross country titles once again.
