With the indoor season coming to a close, we wanted to look back and highlight four of the best underclassmen that Delaware has to offer, with all of them performing on the highest stages and competing with the state and nation's best.
Boys
Charles Prosser So. Salesianum 55m/200m
Charles may only be a sophomore, but he is already at the top of the state rankings in Delaware, running 21.94 for a 6th place finish in the 200m and a 6.54 55m again, placing 6th indoors. Only time will tell how fast Prosser can run this outdoor season and the rest of his high school career.
Calvin Davis Fr. Alexis I. DuPont High School 800m/Mile
Calvin may only be a freshman, but he can definitely run and run fast at that, too. Davis holds an indoor pr over the 800m of 1:56.97, which was good for a 3rd place finish at NBNI in the freshman 800m. The freshman also placed 3rd at the DE indoor state meet.
Girls
Lauryn Leech Fr. Tatnall 800m/Mile
Lauryn has made her name known all year long, dating back to the XC season, following her 2nd-place finish at the DE state meet. She also placed 7th in the mile indoors and holds a pr of 5:13.62.
Devon Craig So. Dover High School 60m/200m
Craig showed her speed on the indoor circuit all year long, peaking at just the right time with her 2nd place finish at the indoor state meet, running 24.87 over 200m. Devon also placed 29th overall at the Adidas indoor nationals in the 60m dash, running a new PR of 7.93.
