Delaware Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of May 4

Delaware high school track and field athletes recorded several personal bests at meets held during the week of May 4.

Christian Artson (Woodbridge) ran 50.58 in the 400 meters at the Henlopen Athletic Conference Championships on May 7, improving from his previous best of 53.64. The time ranks #28 in Delaware and #4 among sophomores statewide, breaking the Woodbridge school record. Artson also set a personal record in the triple jump, improving from 41-11 to 43-3.75.

Malyn Bennett (Hodgson Vo-Tech) clocked 13.36 in the 100 meters at the Tiger Classic on May 4, dropping from her previous mark of 14.07 set in March. The freshman's time ranks #63 in the state and #12 among freshmen. Bennett also recorded a personal best in the 200 meters, running 27.60 to improve from 28.39.
