Over the weekend, there weren't any major meets in the state of Delaware, but athletes traveled to Manhattan to run the historic 4k race at Van Courtland Park.
The boys from Tatnall placed 2nd in the varsity C race with 103 points. All 5 of the boys scoring for Tatnall are either freshmen or sophomores, and they averaged 13:33 as a team with a 53-second spread over the top 5. Kyle Brannon placed 6th in his race with a 13:09, and Nathan Ebbert was 11th in 13:20. The Boys from Tatnall graduate nobody in their top 7 and only have 1 junior who is there 6th, so they will be a team to look out for in the next few years to come on not just a state level but also a national level potentially.
The Tatnall girls won the Varsity D race with 99 points and averaged 16:09 for 4k as a team. Along with their boys team, they are also a very young squad with only 2 of the top 7 being seniors and 3 of them being underclassmen.
The Padua girls team was another one that showed up on the day and showed out as they placed 3rd overall in the Varsity B race with 120 points and averaged 16:23 as a team for 4,000m.
Overall, even though there weren't any major meets in the state, there were still tons of great performances from the athletes of DE at Manhattan, and this weekend we will see a ton of athletes from DE in action at the John O'Neill XC Invite.
