Tuesday night: the Saturday PA pix.   Day Three: Chanelle Price, Ryann Krais, Karlee McQuillen and more, including ... Simon Gratz had a dropped stick on Friday in the 1600 sprint medley, but more than made up for that with a 1:31+ by winning the first of four heats (yep, the 'slow' one), and then held on for 6th place and all-American honors. Westmont Hilltop's Karlee McQuillen defended her javelin title with a throw of nearly 150 feet. Laura Reisek and Elisha Jones, Eisenhower, also medaled. (NOT COMPLETE, BUT SHOULD BE SOON)Day Two: Homeschooled Neely Spence ran 10:20.05 in the 2-mile, finishing 2nd. Lara Crofford, Big Spring, captured her 2nd all-American award in two nights, taking 6th in the race in 10:28.67. Paul Springer, Unionville, captured 6th in the boys' 2-mile, running 8:52.77. In the shot put, Karen Shump, Penncrest, was 3rd with a throw of 48-04.75, which came on her first toss of the prelims. Easton's Abby Schaffer cleared 12-04.75 for 6th in the pole vault. In the boys' javelin, Brian Moore, LaSalle, was third with a PR of 209-08, and Justin Shirk, Central Dauphin, took 4th with his 207-03. Cardinal O'Hara's boys captured 5th in the 1600 sprint medley relay in 3:28.81. Unionville's Brehanna Jacobs missed advancing to the finals of the 100 by less than a thousandth of a second.  Day One: Big Spring senior Lara Crofford added to her hardware on the first night of the Nike Outdoor Nationals, taking 2nd in the 5000 meter run. Her time was under 16:43.46, and broke the meet record set in 2006, but she finished 2nd to Marissa Treese of Michigan. Crofford said that she was more pleased with this race and this place that her state title in the 3200 in late May, and that the time was better than she had hoped for. (more from Crofford in the story)
