Henlopen Conference Championship 2013

The Cape and Caesar Rodney track and field girls are used to doing battle at the Henlopen Conference Championships, but not for second place. (via capegazette.villagesoup.com)         Cape junior Megan Hart clears the bar at 4-10  in the high jump finals. Hart placed fifth in the event.

Caesar Rodney is the prevailing DIAA state indoor track champion and finished the regular dual-meet season undefeated. They were expected to dominate the Henlopen Conference Meet May 9 and 10 and delivered, scoring 167 points followed by Dover 118 and Cape 96. ndian River senior Keiosha Shelton in the 4 x 1 relay DOVER — The team title was already locked up. But Stuart Higginbotham wanted Caesar Rodney High to end this meet in grand fashion. Higginbotham’s pass in the final turn of the 1,600-meter relay capped the Riders’ second straight Henlopen Conference boys’ track & field championship Friday night at Dover High.  CR won the meet, totaling 167 points while Dover finished in second with 118.
