GENERAL: Charter Stadium has a 400 meter, 8-lane straight, 6-lane oval, all-weather facility. There will be no locker room facilities available. Only 1/4 inch pyramid spikes may be used. Chalk will be provided for use by athletes in marking for relays and field events. NFHS rules will be in effect.
ADMISSION: Students $2.00; Adults $5.00. All team members in uniform will be admitted free. Any manager or non-uniform team member must be accompanied by a coach.
TIME SCHEDULE: Gates will open at 2:45 on Friday and 9:30 on Saturday.
MEET ENTRY: Individual and relay event entries and seed times/distances must be made online at www.de.milesplit.com. Entries close at 9:00 PM, WEDNESDAY, MAY 8th. All entry performances must have been achieved during the 2019 outdoor season. Please enter the athletes you expect to use on relay teams in the order in which you expect them to run. Final relay declarations will be made using cards on the day of the race. Invoice is available at www.N5CTA.com. Performance Lists will be posted on N5CTA.com by the evening of Wednesday, May 8th.
SCORING & AWARDS: The top eight places will score in all events. Awards to the top 3 teams, top 6 individuals in each event, and top 3 teams in each relay. Top 3 finishers in all events earn All-County.
PARTICIPATION LIMITS: Teams may enter 2 athletes per individual event and one relay team per relay event. Individuals may compete in a maximum of 4 events. The Novice Sprint Medley is a non-scoring event for novices only. Athletes in this event may not participate in any other events.
ADVANCEMENT: Preliminaries and semifinals will be held in the 100 meters. Preliminary qualifiers in the 100 hurdles and 110 hurdles will advance to the finals. All other events will be Finals with places determined by time.
RUNNING EVENTS: All events will be pre-seeded. Sections will be run slow to fast. Athletes should pick up hip numbers prior to entering the warm up area on the infield. When an event is called, check in with the Clerk of Course, and remain in the bull pen area until directed onto the track. The 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 will be run with a 3 turn stagger.
FIELD EVENTS: STARTING HEIGHTS:
Pole Vault: Boys: 8' 0"; progression at 6" intervals until 11'6", then at 3" intervals
Girls: 6' 0"; progression at 6" intervals until 9'6", then at 3" intervals
High Jump: Boys: 5'6"; progression at 2" intervals until 6'2", then at 1" intervals
Girls: 4'4"; progression at 2" intervals, until 5'2", then at 1" intervals
REPORTING: Competitors should report to the event site when called and check in with the official in charge. Throwing implements must be weighed and certified prior to the start of the event. Certification of poles for pole vault and weighing-in of athletes for pole vault will be at the pole vault event location. Each athlete in the horizontal jumps and throws will get 3 attempts in preliminaries. The top 9 will advance to the finals, where they will get 3 more attempts.
COACHES HELP: N5CTA requires that each team provide a worker to help with the meet. Please send a job preference to the meet director. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request. Each team is also required to provide TWO student-helpers to assist in the efficient running of the meet.
